- Genome SequencesDraft Genome Sequence of Cytophagales sp. Strain WSM2-2, Isolated from Garden Soil
We report the draft genome sequence of the Cytophagales sp. strain WSM2-2, isolated from garden soil. A 5.5-Mb genome sequence comprising four contigs was successfully obtained using Illumina NovaSeq and MinION sequencers. This draft genome sequence will contribute to the genomic knowledge of the bacterial order Cytophagales.
- Genome SequencesComplete Genome Sequence of Francisella sp. Strain LA11-2445 (FDC406), a Novel Francisella Species Isolated from a Human Skin Lesion
Here, we present the 2,139,666-bp circular chromosome of Francisella sp. strain LA11-2445 (FDC406), a proposed novel species of Francisella that was isolated from a human cutaneous lesion and is related to Francisella species from marine environments.

The Yeosu New Harbor in the South Korean benthic environment shows a mesotrophic environment affected by the Tsushima Current and the Seomjin River. Here, we report microbial diversity in sediments of Yeosu New Harbor based on 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. The dominant bacterial phylum was Proteobacteria (relative abundance, 72.5 to 78.1%).
- Genome SequencesGenome Sequences of Two Marsupial Simplex Viruses, Macropodid Alphaherpesviruses 2 and 4
We present the genome sequences of macropodid alphaherpesviruses 2 and 4, two closely related pathogens of macropods. Both encoded 68 nonredundant open reading frames (ORFs) and share 90.6% genome-wide nucleotide identity. These viruses are associated with fatal outbreaks of disease in multiple marsupial species. These sequences will be important for the development of new diagnostic tools.
- Genome SequencesComplete Genome Sequences of Streptococcus suis Pig-Pathogenic Strains 10, 13-00283-02, and 16085/3b
Streptococcus suis is an important pathogen of pigs that, as a zoonotic agent, can also cause severe disease in humans, including meningitis, endocarditis, and septicemia. We report complete and annotated genomes of S. suis strains 10, 13-00283-02, and 16085/3b, which represent the highly prevalent...
- Genome SequencesBK Polyomavirus Genotypes in Two Patients after Hematopoietic Cell Transplant
BK polyomavirus (BKPyV) infection can lead to nephropathy and hemorrhagic cystitis (HC). We evaluated BKPyV genotypes in two individuals after hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT). The first case developed HC and was infected with genotype Ib-2, while the second did not develop HC and was infected with genotype Ia.
- Genome SequencesComplete Genome Sequence of Halomonas sp. Strain SH5A2, a Dye-Degrading Halotolerant Bacterium Isolated from the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve in Peru
Halomonas sp. strain SH5A2 is a halotolerant bacterium isolated from Salinas Lake at 4,300 m above sea level in Peru. Here, we report its complete genome sequence with a length of 3,849,224 bp and highlight the presence of genes putatively related to dye degradation, such as NADPH-dependent oxidoreductases.
- Genome SequencesDraft Genome Sequence of Pseudomonas sp. Strain FEN, Isolated from the Fe- and Organic Matter-Rich Schlöppnerbrunnen Fen...
Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Pseudomonas sp. strain FEN, a nonfluorescent siderophore producer that was isolated from the Schlöppnerbrunnen fen, which is characterized by high concentrations of Fe, dissolved organic matter (DOM), and Fe-DOM complexes. This draft genome sequence provides insight into the mechanisms of siderophore biosynthesis and siderophore-mediated iron uptake by this bacterium.
- Genome SequencesComplete Genome Sequence of Geobacter sp. Strain FeAm09, a Moderately Acidophilic Soil Bacterium
A moderately acidophilic Geobacter sp. strain, strain FeAm09, was isolated from forest soil. The complete genome sequence is 4,099,068 bp, with an average GC content of 61.1%. No plasmids were detected. The genome contains a total of 3,843 genes and 3,608 protein-coding genes, including genes supporting iron and nitrogen biogeochemical cycling.
- Omics Data SetsWater Microbiota from a Commercial Alfalfa Sprout Crop over 4 Days of Growth
Sprouts have been implicated in numerous foodborne illness outbreaks. To better understand baseline microbial profiles of irrigation water and subsequent spent irrigation water of alfalfa sprouts, DNA from water was extracted, sequenced, and annotated with CosmosID and a custom pipeline to provide bacterial, fungal, protist, and antimicrobial resistance gene profiles.
